Students enrolled in this class must be enrolled in the Symphony Orchestra and are highly encouraged to audition for the Senior Regional Orchestra or Senior District Orchestra and take private lessons (though not required). What started out as an idea over lunch at Macy*s has become a fully formed resident community orchestra that is comprised of accomplished and engaged senior citizens, making classical music available to a wide audience through free concerts, and enriching New York City's cultural life.The orchestra will perform Nov. 11 and 12 at Brooke Point High School in Stafford. The Junior Regional Orchestra will be directed by renowned international composer and educator Kirt Mosier.
