It sounds like you lost your mucous plug, and possibly bloody show. That's pretty common after a sweep. Some spotting is normal and expected from a sweep, but call your ob if you're concerned. With my first I never lost the mucus plug but was still very dilated like this time so not sure if I should take it as anything is happening soon or not.

I had a membrane sweep at 39 weeks, lost my mucous plug that night and had mild contractions (so mild I could sleep through them) for the next 2 days. Baby came at 39+4 with no other intervention needed. I highly recommend the membrane sweep to anyone on the fence, it was a bit uncomfortable, but very quick and for me it was quite effective.
