Kawasaki vulcan 800 problems.
I have a 2001 vulcan 800 standard. It sat up for several years and the tank rusted. We had the tank rotted and creamed. The bike will run for several weeks and then it floods. We have cleaned the carb several times. We put on an external fuel filter. The petcock has been cleaned and the carb rebuilt. We dont know why it continues to flood.

I recieved the belt drive conversion kit from scootworks (it took about 2 1/2 months) for my Kawasaki 800 Classic. The complete installation took me and my wife about 6 hours. I will say that it is a great addition to this machine. I no longer am 'searching' for a 6th gear.The last would be to check the voltage on the regulator. Connect DC meter to Black/Yellow and White wires on the regulator connector. Idle should be 12v. At 6 - 8k rpm you should have 14-15volts. Anything else with a good read on the stator means the regulator is bad. 1995 VN800A.Nov 6, 2016 · First to second gear issues can be a sign of abuse. 4. Take a big screwdriver and short across the two big connections on the solenoid. This will test the starter. Shorting the solenoid like this puts battery power straight onto the starter. It sounds like your crankcase ventilator is blocked. The alternator is in the crankcase and blow-by from the piston rings will pressurize the case if it can't vent. I don't know the 800 engine, but a blowup of the engine should show you where the vent is. Good luck.2. Very strong vibration and grinding when exceeding 120km/hr from the engine causing the handle to rattle and causing body aches. Unable to see the rear mirror due to strong vibration. 3. Fuel consumption is quite high. Manage to get only 150km on a full tank. Average speed 120km/hr.

This is a smooth looking, and riding bike. I have been riding my 2003 Drifter since December 2004. It had only 600 miles on it.It is good to go out on the suburban road and drive calmly and evenly at the beginning to allow the supplement to clean everything. Just in case, check the spark plugs if they are easily accessible and adjust their spacing. It is good to look at the air filter and if necessary clean or replace. Also check the throttle cord.

One cylinder (the right side) refuses to idle under no choke, idles okay under full and half choke, but will stall out unless you give it some throttle w/ no choke.
