I read in several threads on this forum that non-Carrier thermostats are not fully compatible with this unit, since they are not communicating thermostats and therefore not able to handle 3-stage modulating unit. However, I was reading the manual and appears that 58MVC is good with even a single stage thermostat (see the wordings below).
