The truck was also in limp mode only able to go about 35. Still was able to go into gear but hit real hard when changing the selector. Any ideas on what might be the issue would be greatly appreciated.

p0856 is usually the result of another problem. It is essentially disabling the ABS because the engine cannot for some reason allow torque reduction. This is usually the result of a fault with the power train. I just came across this on youtube and this guy (kid) claims that pulling a fuse completely disables both stabilitrac and traction control. It was hard to tell exactly which one it was (I think fuse #9), but I am sure you can cross reference it with a fuse box diagram to find out. Anyway, the video is long and the kid talks forever.
